A helicopter carrying six people, including the co-founder of Nigeria’s biggest bank by assets, crashed in a Southern California desert area near the Mojave National Preserve, authorities said.
According to family members of Herbert Wigwe from Isiokpo village, he was also among the victims.
A family member confirmed the death of Abimbola Obanbanjo in Lagos. He was the president of the National Council of the Nigeria Stock Exchange between 2017 and 2021 and the group chairman of the Nigerian Exchange Group Plc between 2021 and 2022.
The Federal Aviation Administration reported that a Eurocopter EC crashed around 10 p.m. Friday, with six people aboard.
“The scene of the crash was determined to be east of the 15-Freeway, near Halloran Springs Road,”In an email sent on Saturday, the San Bernardino County Sheriff-Coroner Department stated that they were announcing their decision. “No survivors have been located.”
